The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences annouced yesterday Student Academy Awards finalists! Peacock directed by Ondřej Hudeček, student of Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, is among them in Foreign Narrative section.

New this year, the Foreign Film category has been expanded to include separate awards for narrative, animation and documentary entries.  Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal awards may be given in the Foreign Film Narrative category; Gold Medal awards may be given in the Foreign Film Animation and the Foreign Film Documentary categories.  All Student Academy Award® winners become eligible for Oscars® consideration.

The 43rd Student Academy Awards presentation will be held on Thursday, September 22, at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. 

Peacock by Ondřej Hudeček has been premiered at Karlovy Vary IFF 2015 in Future Frames section and had its international premiere at Toronto IFF 2015. This January, the film competed in the 2016 Short Films section at Sundance Film Festival and won the jury award for Best Direction.
