At Marché du Film Czech cinematography will once again be represented in the Czech/Slovak pavilion, which the Czech Film Center shares with the Slovak Film Institute. The pavilion is located in a prestigious part of the market, Village International, under number 133 and it is used as a space for the presentation of Czech films, film news, co-production opportunities with Czech producers and services provided to foreign crews as well as facilities for Czech producers who are meeting with foreign professionals in its spaces.

Czech and Slovak pavilion located at the Marché du Film is the home base for both Czech and Slovak film in Cannes. Czech Film Center uses the pavilion to present new Czech films to international film festivals, provides the interested visitors with updated information from various areas of Czech film industry, including new legal development,  possibilities of co-productions with Czech producers and services provided to foreign film crews. The pavilion serves also as the base for visiting Czech producers, who can organize their business meetings here.

Industry meetings

Czech Film Center organizes numerous industry meeting and social events in the pavilion, participates at the industry events and screenings of Czech films and mediates contact between Czech filmmakers and professionals and their international counterparts or with journalists.

One of this year’s events is a Czech-Polish-Slovak networking brunch, aiming at support of co-productions between these countries. Together with invited producers introducing their projects, the representatives of Film Commission Poland, Czech Film Commission and Slovak Film Institute will be presenting the financial possibilities in individual countries.

„The event is in line with our long term effort to support cooperation with the Czech Republic, by creating networking opportunities for Czech producers and their international counterparts and informing about co-production and financing opportunities in the Czech Republic. The recent international success of several Czech minority co-productions together with the positive development in Czech legislature confirm this efforts,“ says Marketa Santrochova, the Head of Czech Film Center.
