A story of the doctor and politician František Kriegel, who resisted the might of the USSR and Brezhnev in 1968, brings to light long-hidden facts and events from the most tragic episode in modern Czechoslovak history. František Kriegel - the only of 26 Czech politicians refused to bow to Soviet pressure and sign the ignominious Moscow Protocol. In the early hours of 21 August, together with five other top politicians, he was arrested and taken to Moscow, where he was interned, fully expecting to be sent to death in Siberia.
