A story of the paralyzed Mateusz who is living on the shores of the Baltic Sea, and his son Tomas. They have been trying to find a way back to each other since their fates were divided by a family argument. Tomas meets Anna, who was changed by a tragedy in the family. A Japanese businessman Fujimura, whose priorities in life alter after he learns that he only has a few more months to live. He recalls the promise he once made to his daughter Sanako to visit the Himalayas together and he decides to fulfill it, since there had never been enough time before... The lives of all the heroes outlined above begin to change right after they all receive a letter from a French priest Michel, who lives in New York and who unfathomably sees into their lives and urges them to change.
