In the fall issue of Czech Film, we speak with director, scriptwriter and producer Václav Marhoul about his long-awaited feature The Painted Bird, which was selected for the main competition of the Venice FF. We also focus on other Czech films in Venice's Official Selection: SH_T HAPPENS and Extase. Then we introduce Petr Zelenka’s new film, a contemporary drama The Pilot, which is currently in production. And we also look at the world-wide success of animated short Daughter.
