Czech Film and Television Academy (CFTA) announced nominations for the Czech Lion Awards 2021. Zatopek by David Ondříček and Occupation by Michal Nohejl both received 13 nominations - including Best Feature Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay. Two non-statutary awards were already given out at the press conference.

Czech Film and Television Academy (CFTA) revealed the nominations for this year's Czech Lion Awards (the winners will be announced on March 5, 2022). David Ondříček's biopic Zátopek and Michal Nohejl's debut, dark comedy Occupation, both received 13 nominations.

Zátopek is nominated for Best Feature Film (David Ondříček & Kryštof Mucha), Best Director (David Ondříček), Best Screenplay (David Ondříček, Alice Nellis, Jan P. Muchow), Best Actress in a Leading Role (Martha Issová), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Václav Neužil), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Robert Mikluš), Best Cinematography (Štěpán Kučera), Best Film Editing (Jarosław Kamiński), Best Sound (Pavel Rejholec, Jakub Čech), Best Music (Beata Hlavenková), Best Stage Design (Jan Vlasák), Best Costumes (Kateřina Štefková) and Best Makeup and Hairstyling (Jana Dopitová).

Occupation is nominated for Best Feature Film (Julie Žáčková & Jan Hlavsa), Best Director (Michal Nohejl), Best Screenplay (Marek Šindelka, Vojtěch Mašek), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Martin Pechlát), Best Actress in a Leading Role (Antonie Formanová), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Otakar Brousek), Best Cinematography (Jan Baset Střítežský), Best Film Editing (Petr Turyna), Best Sound (Sandra Klouzová, David Titěra, Roman Sečkař), Best Music (La Petite Sonja, Hank J. Manchini), Best Stage Design (Tomáš Svoboda), Best Costumes (Josefina Bakošová), Best Makeup and Hairstyling (Jana Dopitová).

Eleven nominations received Man with Hare Ears by Martin Šulík - Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, both Actor categories, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Cinematography, Best Sound, Best Stage Design, Best Costumes and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Nine nominations earned Bird Atlas by Olmo Omerzu - Best Feature FIlm, Best Director, both Actor and both Actress categories, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing and Best Sound. Eight nominations belong to Emma in Love by Jan Prušinovský - Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, both Actress categories, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Film Editing and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

My Sunny Maad, Even Mice Belong in Heaven (film by Denisa Grimmová and Jan Bubeníček is also nominated for Best Music) and Red Shoes are nominated for Best Animated films. My Sunny Maad by Michaela Pavlátová also received nomination in screenplay, sound and music categories. Red Shoes by Anna Podskalská is also nomianted for the Magnesia Award for Best Student Film - along with Love Dad by Diana Cam Van Nguyen (also nominated in Best Short Film category), Progress by Lun Sevnik, Still Awake? by David Payne and Wood for the Next Winter by Karel Šindelář.

Best Documentary nominees include: A New Shift by Jindřich Andrš, At Full Throttle by Miro Remo, Dreams about Stray Cats (David Sýs), Heaven by Tomáš Etzler & Adéla Špaljová and Intensive Life Unit by Adéla Komrzý.

Along with the nominations, CFTA also announced the winner of two non-statutory awards - Award of Film Fans and Best Film Poster. Both prizes went to Zátopek.
