Two years ago, it seemed that Adam and Eliška could do everything. He was a successful rock guitarist. She was his muse. But one stupid decision and it was all gone. Now Adam's done two years in jail, working as a digger, can't get a proper job. He'd like to get back to music, but he's got a family to provide for, and debts to pay. And it's the whole bleak situation of their lives and the fact that Eliška has to sell herself via livechat for money that goes over Adam's head one night. He realises that what they are living is entirely his fault and decides to do something about it. Even at the cost of breaking the law again.

The story is framed by a pair of the main character’s suicide attempts, his unsuccessful attempt on the Žampach viaduct and the successful one in prison. We follow Kalivoda’s actions from his victory in the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire TV game show through the systematic degradation of his ethical inhibitions to the commitment of three murders, he refuses to reveal the motivation for. The film leaves us with a burning question, what led him to his actions.
