Can infidelity be the foundation of a happy marriage? Charming bon vivant Rudolf is convinced it can: “A woman has to feel like she needs to fight for a man; that she has to work in order to keep him. And more importantly, a woman must never get bored!” Rudolf successfully applies his wild theory in day-to-day practice with an unceasing élan that is enviable in a man who has just hit sixty. And he cannot comprehend the naivety of his unbearably upright son-in-law Ondřej who, by faithfully fulfilling his obligations, does not notice how dangerously his wife Alice is starting to get bored. So the loving father and collegial father-in-law Rudolf offers Ondřej a bit of trusty advice on how to inject the necessary excitement into a dying marriage. After all it is for a good cause: his only daughter’s domestic bliss… Thanks to an affair with the beautiful Šarlota, the boring goodie two-shoes Ondřej really does become a self-confident lord over all creation, wooed by his mistress and admired by his own wife. While it is a wonderful situation, it cannot be kept up for long. A whirlwind of comedic situations await Ondřej, who faces them with a disarming combination of typical male characteristics – a playful ingenuity and an indestructible hope that everything will turn out well.
