Honza is a likeable, intelligent petty crook who has decided to fulfill his sick grandfather’s lifelong dream. Without knowing it, he also fulfills his own dream in doing so and finds what he was longing for. The story is a confirmation of the wisdom that when a person gets in over his head, it is best to return to his roots. Honza has a friend, Jirka, who is a bit thick between the ears but he has one “good” characteristic. He is a genius when it comes to fooling women. They make use of this talent in various scams with flats, cars and the like. That is until Honza happens to learn that his Moravian grandfather is dying and his doctors have given him a year to live. The news tears Honza out of his rut; as he hasn’t seen his grandfather in a long time, he decides to make his grandfather’s lifelong dream come true. He arranges a trip abroad for him and offers to watch the vineyards while he’s gone. The forecast calls for beautiful weather and nothing will be going on at the vineyards for at least 10 days anyhow. That’s what he thinks! At first, looking after grandfather’s vineyards seems like a perfect vacation. A full pantry, wine, Honza falls for Klárka, the girl next door. Plus Jirka comes to see him and they visit the vineyards in the area. Together they discover the wonderful scenery of the winegrowing region and the inner world of the vintner begins to captivate them. It is the start of a wonderful vacation, a perfect idyll. And then all of a sudden everything starts to get complicated…
