Markéta earned her undergraduate degree in education from the University of West Bohemia, in Pilsen, and continued studying Czech language and literature and French translation at Charles University in Prague. After more than eight years of working closely with the Program Department of the Karlovy Vary IFF, she joined the newly created Czech Film Center in 2004. She has served as the head of the CFC since 2013 and in May 2019, she was appointed the president of the European Film Promotion. Markéta’s agenda includes communication with major international film festivals, co-production markets and sales companies. She also consults festival strategies for upcoming films and is in charge of the Czech Film Springboard industry event and the CZECH FILM revue.

Barbora graduated from Film and Audiovisual Culture Studies and English Language and Literature at Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. While studying, she worked for several film festivals including Summer Film School or Mezipatra Queer Film Festival. Directly after her graduation in 2015, she joined the team of Czech Film Center. Barbora takes care of the promotion of Czech feature films abroad and presentation of Czech cinema at film markets in Berlin and Cannes, consults festival strategies for upcoming feature films and maintains the database of upcoming films as well as public database of finished Czech films and the international film festivals guide available to Czech film professionals.

Vítězslav joined the team of CFC in 2017. He graduated from Film and Audiovisual Culture Studies at Masaryk University in Brno. During his studies he worked at the Czech Television as an assistant dramaturge. Since 2010, he worked for several film festivals including Karlovy Vary IFF or Ji.hlava IDFF. As a journalist, he has contributed to various Czech outlets and he is currently writing for Cinepur magazine. He is also a member of programming team of One World Human Rights Film Festival in Prague. At the CFC, Vítězslav is responsible for promotion of Czech documentary and short films abroad and consults festival strategies of upcoming films as well. In addition, he prepares the annual Czech Shorts Films collection and takes care of the presentation of Czech cinema at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market.

Luděk graduated in Film Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and Environmental Studies at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno. He worked as a programmer for the Prague Short Film Festival (also known as Pragueshorts) and collaborated with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival as a reviewer of feature-length documentaries. He occasionally presented film screenings at the Ponrepo cinema in Prague and writes essayistic ruminations on films and filmmakers he likes – formerly for the magazine Film a doba and currently for the social-ecological magazine Sedmá generace. He is part of the team of CFC since the beginning of 2024 and he is in charge of web administration, social media and communication with journalists.

Magdalena graduated from Cultural History at Faculty of Arts and Philosophy at University of Pardubice. In the past, worked for example in the production department of Prague International Film Festival – Febiofest, as chief editor of the Portal database at the National Film Archive or as the database and new web project coordinator at dok.incubator. Magdalena joined the team of CFC at March 2019 and she is responsible for all the administrative tasks as well as production of all our projects and events.
