The film recalls the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in August 1968, telling the story of a Polish tank that gets lost in Bohemia during the invasion. Jacek Glomb says: “I want to make what is called a ‘comediodrama’ in Poland, elsewhere a tragicomedy. I am interested in history from the perspective of man, not ideology. This is a movie about understanding.” The film is based on a theatrical production staged by Jacek Głomb in Legnica, Poland, in 2006. Legnica’s relationship to the invasion runs deeper than most: The headquarters from which the invasion was orchestrated was located there. Moreover, the Czech politicians involved in the Prague Spring were taken to Legnica after their arrest.
