The Czech Film Fund has selected ten film projects from 31 applications to receive minority coproduction funding. A total allocation amount was 20 million CZK (770,000 euros).
The total requested amount was over 81 million CZK. However, the Council had a 20mil allocation in this call. Thus, even though a lot of projects exceeded the 60 points needed for support, only ten of them could eventually be supported – 6 feature films, one documentary and three animations. The Council preferred projects which are now in production loveor are heading for shooting in the short term. The Council also preferred projects with a strong creative share of the Czech coproducer (role casting, staff composition, location selection) and projects that have the potential to promote Czech cinema at prestigious film festivals.
