Czech Works in Progress, the presentation of Czech fiction features in the stage of production or postproduction organized by Prague International Film Festival – Febiofest in co-operation with the Czech Film Fund / Czech Film Center, takes place online. Bohdan Sláma, Martin Šulík, Jan Prušinovský, Jan Březina, Jan Foukal, Zuzana Piussi, Fiona Ziegler will consult their projects online with international experts.

For the first time, Prague International Film Festival – Febiofest and the Czech Film Fund / Czech Film Center organize the presentation of the Czech Works in Progress to offer upcoming Czech films the possibility to reach the international professionals and offer those experts an inside on what is going on in the Czech cinema.

Although the program was supposed to run in Prague on Tuesday 24 March, 2020, due to the current Coronavirus problems, the situation has changed.

Despite the multiple tasks following the spread of COVID-19, and need to postpone the festival to later date, we wanted to keep the industry programme running. Luckily enough, both the experts and the filmmakers have been willing to take part in the virtual programme, and we launch this initiative digitally,” explains Markéta Šantrochová, Head of Czech Film Center.

More than 50 festival selectors, sales agents and other film professionals received the screeners of new titles by acclaimed Czech authors and promising newbies – Bohdan Sláma, Martin Šulík, Jan Prušinovský, Jan Březina, Jan Foukal, Zuzana Piussi, Fiona Ziegler.

The selection offers fine mixture of the acclaimed directors and big new talents. Their humorous and outstanding creative approach combine crafted storytelling with surprising atmosphere of the picture. Although we are deeply sad that we cannot invite the creators to the stage, we believe to bring you the finest moments in your quarantine,” says Miriam Ryndová from Prague International Film Festival – Febiofest.
