The film follows the pilgrimage of the art historian Jiří Zemánek and his friends, who decided to make the same journey as Czech romantic poet Karel Hynek Mácha. In the summer of 1833, Mácha and his friend walked from Prague to Sněžka - the highest mountain in Bohemia. The film depicts the journey of Jiří Zemánek and his friends, showing the beauty and magnificence of nature far away from the rush of modern life, but also the hardships of travellers. On top of that, the spectator encounters Mácha's poetry and meets the contemporary Czech artists.
