The film Pipeline deals with modernday Europe; about two facets, or rather extremes, of this continent. It describes a Europe which stretches from the remote reaches of eternal winter in Russia’s Siberia to the pleasant beaches of the Bay of Biscay. The laws of nature dictate two radically different ways of life here. What do they have in common, however? They are physically connected by a pipeline leading all the way from Western Siberia to Western Europe. And this “pipe” does not only connect THIS Russia with THAT Europe, but it binds them too.
