Fanny is ten years old and the star of the gymnastics team. She is simply the best and doesn’t hesitate to let her classmates know about it. Out of envy they pay her back by ignoring her, and Fanny begins to feel more and more isolated. Her parents are divorced and her mother has remarried and is expecting a new baby. Fanny lives alone with her father and tries to use her athletic ability to make up for her loneliness. But when a tragic accident puts an end to her career, she has a very difficult time coming to terms with her new life. Then just when it seems that life has lost all meaning, Fanny discovers new values and starts to comprehend the power of love and friendship based on giving as well as receiving.
