After six years, one of the most popular fairy tales in the history of Czech film-making and the most successful tale on Czech Television is now continued with Part Two. Currently in domestic theatrical release are the new adventures of the inhabitants of a fairy-tale mill: the “little, but clever” devil, the water goblin, the lovely Eliška, the jealous witch, the haughty lord and other popular figures. Just as with Princess of the Mill, the film’s second installment, also, is intended especially for younger audiences; it enhances the poetic style of Part One, with more humorous situations and excitement added. Its plot was inspired by Southern Bohemian folk tales, and the regional literature of the Volyně and Vodňany regions.
