An animated remake of one of the most popular films in Czechoslovak cinema history, about Carolina, a childishly vain princess, and her mean advisors, who want to wed her to a weakling, to be able to keep their power. However, the righteous king Benjamin of the neighbouring kingdom falls in love with Carolina and - disguised as a gardener – decides to cure her of her pride. Eventually, he succeeds, and they run away together from the anger of the advisors to his kingdom. Carolina has no idea that the gardener she is running away with is a king. In the grand finale, she finds out. She forgives Benjamin for denying his true identity and becomes his wife. The counselors are imprisoned and love triumphs.
