Linda and Marek are faced with the decision of whether to keep the unborn child, who has a high probability of being born with Down syndrome and a vision of a "poor" life, or simply to abort it through medical intervention. The option of abortion is clearly unacceptable to both of them at first. But no one can competently guarantee how much disability their child might suffer. The more they try to come to terms with the situation, the more doubts and insecurities arise, especially in the functioning of their relationship. It is a choice between reason and emotion - especially for Linda, who has to find her way through this traumatic experience and understand who she really is.
