A historical story from a period of war, occupation, and subsequent expulsion, but its message is supremely relevant today, based on bestseller novel by Kateřina Tučková: The Expulsion of Gerta Schnirch. The fate of a girl who, after the end of World War II, faces the forced expulsion of Germans from Brno and carries the ‘stigma of being German’ for the rest of her life. Two women- daughter and mother divided by a secret so dark that they never dared to speak openly about it. Its nature is deeply intimate, familial, yet fundamentally influenced by the "great" events of the 20th century. By exploring the past of one of them, we unravel a life heavily tainted by two totalitarian regimes, ethnic hatred, old grievances, and the desire for revenge and forgiveness.
