Ten years ago, an exceptional social project called Homeless Blues was established on the northeastern edge of Prague, in a landscape of orchards, bridges, and railway tracks. Instead of pushing homeless people away, the Prague 9 district chose to offer them a chance: modular housing units, work opportunities, and the possibility to regain dignity. Over the course of one year, the documentary follows several members of this community — Margita, who finds solace in caring for animals after losing her partner; Karel and Martin, a long-term couple living beneath the railway who decide to get married; Karel “the Carpenter,” a talented craftsman unable to leave the settlement behind; and Hanka and Naďa, two women building a new home under a highway overpass.
