Four Czech films are part of the official selection of the 17th Les Arcs Film Festival, running from 13 to 20 December in the French Alps. The Czech Audiovisual Fund continues its long-term partnership with Les Arcs and brings to France Czech producers Jan Macola of Mimesis Filmand Alice Tabery of Cinepoint.
This year's Feature films competition offers two Czech high-profile films: Venice-premiered Father (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland) by Tereza Nvotová, produced by Karel Chvojka and Miloš Lochman of moloko film, and Sundance-premiered Mr. Nobody Against Putin (Denmark, Czech Republic) by David Borenstein, produced by Radovan Síbrt, Alžběta Karásková, and Petra Dobešová of PINK. As a reminder, both these films are eligible in the upcoming 98th Oscar race: Father in the International Feature Film category, and Mr. Nobody Against Putin in the International Feature Film and the Documentary Feature Film category.
Two more Czech films landed in the Youth Program: a European Film Award nominee, Tales from the Magic Garden (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, France) by David Súkup, Patrik Pašš, Leon Vidmar, and Jean-Claude Rozec, produced by Martin Vandas and Alena Vandasová of MAUR film, and Sundance-premiered DJ Ahmet (North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia) by Georgi Unkovski, produced by Analog Vision and Alter Vision on the Czech side.

The Czech Audiovisual Fund continues its long-term partnership with Les Arcs Film Festival and brings to France two Czech producers well-experienced in international co-productions: Jan Macola of Mimesis Film and Alice Tabery of Cinepoint. The collaboration with the festival should bolster the Czech Republic's involvement in the production of high-quality, potentially successful European films and aid Czech professionals in building closer collaborations in this area.
