Please Rise is a short political drama about a committee that is formed to decide on a new national anthem after a fictional country goes through a revolution. The film begins at the end of the meeting in which, in a thrilling display of democracy, the committee members are voting on their choice and everything seems to have gone smoothly. Soon after, their celebrations are cut short when they are informed that their choice has been officially disqualified for reasons unknown. What follows is an argument about freedom of speech, censorship, fear, and paranoia.
