This film follows the lives of four family members, whose history is steeped in indeterminate trauma and a tendency to addiction; a family that unwillingly and unwittingly perpetuates trauma from one generation to the next. While Pepa, the film's author and narrator, studies at university, is sober and lives in a tiny house with their long-term partner, Pepa's brother and two cousins have been unhoused for over a decade with each facing their own substance addiction. The Four of Us is a story of co-dependency and addiction. It’s a story of family, love, and a cycle of trauma. It is the story of a cycle-breaker. It’s a story of letting live (and die) in order to respect our loved ones and, ultimately, life itself.
