A documentary mosaic tracing several years in the lives of four family members, whose shared past has grown into sharply different presents. The author and narrator of the film, Pepa, tries to understand why their beloved Brother and two cousins David and Marco, ended up on the streets each struggling with addiction. The fragmented storytelling weaves together past and present events, speaking with the voice of a family member for whom these people are not failures, but a brother and cousins, heroes and friends from a shared adolescence. Balancing between love and anger, care and destruction, Pepa gradually probes the roots of addiction and the possibility of breaking through generational trauma. How do we let live (and perhaps even let die) those we love? How do we begin to truly respect?
