On midnight on 21st August 1968, when the Red Army occupies Czechoslovakia, everything is about to change. But Karla is passed out drunk. The next morning, Karla is surprised to see a Red Army soldier on patrol at the end of their road. But she doesn’t really care because her life couldn’t be more miserable than it already is. In contrast, her mother is furious and refuses to give the young soldier a glass of water, because he is an enemy occupier and a “damn Russian boy”!
