During one day shift in a regional hospital in the Czech Republic, each of the five characters will sooner or later encounter Hana, the head nurse. Sometimes as a random witness, sometimes as a welcome help or an unshakable authority difficult to resist. The sanity of all is tested by events in which daily dramas alternate in rapid succession with elements of comedy to absurdity: While one patient tries to escape, the injured nurse takes his place in his bed; meanwhile, an agile young doctor is overrun by a hard-bitten maintenance worker, an experienced economic deputy has to adapt to a new hierarchy of values, a famous actor merges with his life role, and a young student gradually experiences the true essence of work she had highly idealistic ideas about.
