In today’s globalised world, “to glow” means many things: to thrive, to belong, to be desired. It can be used when talking about love, success, visibility or simply having skin a few shades lighter. Set across New Delhi, Nairobi, and Seoul, Glowing follows three protagonists from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, all united by the same desire: to glow. In India, Joan believes that glowing skin can help her liberate herself from the weight of tradition. In Kenya, Sharon has created a fakt, online version of herself, convinced that going viral will allow her to escape the constraints of poverty. In Korea, Tina, a Czech woman building a life with her Korean partner, gradually dissolves her identity in pursuit of perfection.
