"Through art, I have been formulating the forms of a love relationship with the world since my youth," says artist Miloš Šejn, the protagonist of Because I Have To.
The documentary film Because I Have To evocatively portrays the personality of world-renowned artist Miloš Šejn (*1947). The film opens environmental and spiritual themes that Šejn authentically embodies throughout his life journey. In contrast to the chaos of today’s world, it offers a space for pause and personal meditation on our elemental relationship to nature, time, and place. The depth of Šejn’s practice reveals the boundary between madness and knowledge, between love and the acceptance of death as the ultimate truth. Through a contemplative audiovisual experience, the film evokes a heightened sense of presence—opening the possibility of perceiving the world beyond the noise of everyday life.
