In 1930s Finland, a drunken army officer accidentally triggers a far-right revolution by ordering the kidnapping of former president Ståhlberg. A group of young men abduct the ex-president—only for his sharp-witted wife Ester to force her way into the plan, quickly unraveling its shaky logic. As panic spreads and public opinion turns, the would-be revolution spirals into absurd chaos. The Kidnapping of a President is a dark comedy based on true events, exposing how fragile democracy becomes in the hands of fools.
