Mother, Father and Son from one Czech family are divided by imprisonment, debt, and life’s absurdities. Father, skeptical of prison therapies, uses them to reconnect with his son and seek early release. Mother, facing property seizure caused by father's debts, is forced to take work through an agency on a German farm. This pulls her into modern slavery where she has to face a hopeless situation that drives her to a desperate act. Eight-year-old Son, placed in the care of his suspicious Grandmother living in Slovakia, faces bullying and misunderstanding due to his “otherness”. Yet he manages to find the most strength within himself and bring the broken family back together. Mother, Father, Son is a film about the fragility of family bonds and the ability to find light even in dark times.
