After months of battling leukemia, Mája takes her husband on a roadtrip she claims is a celebration—but it’s really a goodbye. As truth emerges, they must navigate whether love means holding on or letting go.
Mája has been living with leukemia for months. When she learns of a risky bone marrow donor match, she hides the news and convinces her husband Tomáš to take a spontaneous European trip, a long-postponed honeymoon. He sees it as a sign of recovery; she seeks space to decide whether to undergo the life-threatening procedure. As they journey through scenic landscapes, they reconnect, but their bond is tested by secrets, illness, and conflicting hopes. Told from both perspectives and inspired by the directors’ real-life story, To Move Mountains is a moving road movie about love, autonomy, and the courage to choose your own path, even in the face of death.
