Judita (30) becomes pregnant while serving a prison sentence. She is released for one year to care for her newborn daughter, Nora, before returning to prison for the remaining ten years. At first, Judita plans to leave Nora in a hostel and escape, but the situation complicates when she is pursued by Patrik, to whom she owes money for helping her conceive. She seeks help from her father and a childhood friend, Slávek, but both attempts fail. Judita flees to her grandmother and begins stealing to raise money. Her pretense of being a loving mother unravels as she truly bonds with Nora. When Patrik kidnaps the baby, Judita rescues her. Shortly before returning to prison, she plans to escape with Nora, but at the last moment gives her up for adoption, giving her a chance at a better life.
