He sees what others overlook. Jirka used to be a top-notch detective. But fate played a cruel trick on him—due to a rare eye disease, he nearly lost his sight, and with it, his job, his apartment, his money, and his purpose in life. He moved to Troja, where he wanted to give people massages. But fate had other plans and once again sent him more cases his way. Even though he’s nearly blind, with Eva’s help he now investigates murders while trying not to bump into signs, poles, and potholes. She says what others only think. Eva is no damsel in distress. More like a punk mom who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and gets by as best she can—mainly for the sake of her ten-year-old son, Tonda. She now lives in Troja, where she first met Jirka as a murder suspect and later as his partner.
