Personality of Milan Kundera, the most famous Czech writer worldwide, is veiled by numerous secrets. For 30 years, he hasn’t appeared in public. After 1968 Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia, he became an outlaw, settling down permanently in France. He writes and remains silent. Through this documentary, we enter his intimate world, discover the secret of his success, the source of his inspiration, people who have known him since youth or through close cooperation, like Milan Uhde, Miloš Forman, or Juliette Binoche. The result is a portrait of the person and author, who provokes people with his books, his existential restlessness and his heroes who are searching for answers to questions of lightness of being and heaviness of life.
