Blood Red is a black-and-white hybrid feature composed of long, meticulously choreographed shots filmed entirely on an iPhone. Set in a desolate, post-civilizational landscape, it follows people reduced to the pure instinct of surviving day by day. Elderly men, searching for a lost archetype of the hunter, wander with loaded rifles among living and dead animals and an overwhelming silence. Without conventional narrative or dialogue, the film explores the burden of stillness charged with the expectation of an uncertain change. Blurring the line between fiction and documentary, it reflects on human fragility, exhaustion, and the apocalyptic mood of today’s abandoned peripheries. The fiction debut of FAMU graduate Martin Imrich, a powerful new voice in contemporary cinema.
