Three Czech animated shorts will be screened at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2020. SH_T HAPPENS by Dávid Štumpf and Michaela Mihályi will compete in International Competition, The Kite by Martin Smatana and The Concrete Jungle by Marie Urbánková will please spectators in the Young Audience section.

SH_T HAPPENS premiered last year in Venice's Orizzonti section, and was a part of oficial selection at Sundance FF 2020. Now, the 13 minutes long film has been selected for Clermont-Ferrand's International competition along with 78 short from all over the world. This loose adaptation of a well-known biblical story and is directed by Dávid Štumpf and Michaela Mihályi, produced by Peter Badač / BFILM.cz (CZ) and co-produced by by Bagan Films (FR), BFILM (SK) and FAMU (CZ).

The Concrete Jungle is a graduation film by Marie Urbánková, a student at Prague's based UMRPUM. Seven minutes long short is produced by Mária Môťovská UMRPUM (CZ) and co-produced by MAUR film (CZ). In Clermont-Ferrand, The Concrete Jungle will be screened as a part of the Young Audience section.

For the same section has been selected The Kite (world premiere in the Generation Kplus section at Berlinale 2019). Martin Smatana’s film, about coping with death, was produced by Peter Badač (BFILM.cz), in co-production with BFILM (SK), FAMU (CZ), and the CeTA (PL).

Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2020 will take place January 31 - February 8, 2020.
