Czech TV series #martyisdead, directed by Pavel Soukup, won the Best Short-Form Series category at the International Emmy Awards 2020. The series broadcasted on Mall.tv became the first ever Czech winner at the Emmys.

At the awards ceremony, held online, producers Vratislav Šlajer, Jakub Košťál of Bionaut and Milan Kuchynka of Mall TV virutally received the prize for best short series. #martyisdead made history for the Czech Republic while being the first ever Czech work to be awarded the Emmy Award.

The eight-part online series, directed by Pavel Soukup and written by Jaroslav T. Miška and Jan Stehlík, is inspired by real cases of cyberbullying (the series was also created with the contribution of CZ.NIC which deals with internet security). The main role of Marty was portraited by Jakub Němčok.

Pavel Soukup who became known for his student horor fairy-tale film based on Czech legends, Leshy, also prepares a sequel to the successful series, called #annaismissing. The project, currently in development, is focused on the investigation into the kidnapping of a child for black-market videos.
