Occupation is nominated for 6 Czech Film Critics' Awards. Dark comedy by debut director Michal Nohejl is nominated for Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Audiovisual Achievement and Innogy Award - Newcomer of the Year. Zátopek by David Ondříček received 4 nominations, My Sunny Maad by Michaela Pavlátová and Emma in Love by Jan Prušinovský are both nominated in 3 catageories, Mirrors in the Dark by Šimon Holý and Love, Dad by Diana Cam Van Nguyen received 2 noms.

Association of Czech Film Critics revealed the nominations for this year's Czech Film Critics' Awards (the winners will be announced on February 5, 2022). Michal Nohejl's dark comedy Occupation is nominated for 6 awards - Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor (Martin Pechlát), Audiovisual Achievement and Innogy Award - Newcomer of the Year. The film celebrated its international premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in the First Feature Competition (November, 2021).

In the Best Film category, Occupation is accompanied with animated feature My Sunny Maad and biopic Zátopek. Michaela Pavlátová's animated film world premiered at the Annecy IAFF in the main competition and won the Jury Award at the festival. Last month, the film was nominated for the Golden Globe in the Best Feature Animated category, and now it is also nominated for Best Film, Best Screenplay and Audiovisual Achievement at the CFCA.

Zátopek, which was the opening film of last year's Karlovy Vary IFF, was also selected as this season's Czech Oscar candidate. David Ondříček's film is nominated for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress (Martha Issová) and Best Actor (Jan Neužil).

The Best Documentary category includes also two Karlovy Vary IFF 2021 participants: Intensive Life Unit (by Adéla Komrzý) and At Full Throttle (by Miro Remo). A New Shift by Jindřich Andrš is the third film nominated.

Jan Prušinovský's Emma in Love is nominated for Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actress awards (Pavla Gajdošíková). Among the films which received multiple nominations also appear celebrated short ani-doc Love, Dad by Diana Cam Van Nguyen (Best Short Film and Innogy Award - Newcomer of the Year) and Šimon Holý's feature debut Mirrors in the Dark (Best Actress - Alena Doláková and Innogy Award - Newcomer of the Year).
