Second year student at Prague’s FAMU Philippe Kastner presented his short animated film Dede is Dead about the loss of his beloved dog and the process of grieving in the competition dedicated to the cinema for youngest audience Generation Kplus and its children jury decided to award the film with the special mention, following this statement:"A real story which triggered an abundance of emotions: A great animation, with a special drawing style and beautifully used colours, inspired us!".

Dede Is Dead is also part of the latest edition of the Czech Short Films collection, which serves the international festival programmers and sales agents while looking for the best new short films to work with. 

Czech short films appear in Generatio Kplus quite regularly - recently Suzie in the Garden by Lucie Sunková, Leaf by Aliona Baranova or The Kite by Martin Smatana were premiered in this prestigious section.
