The Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival has presented awards, recognizing several winning Czech films in both the Czech Joy competition and international categories. The top prize for the best Czech documentary film was awarded to Photophobia by Ivan Ostrochovský and Pavol Pekarčík. The film was produced by Tomáš Michálek and Kristýna Michálek Květová of Cinémotif Films on the Czech side, with support from Czech Television.

In the Czech Joy category, a Special Mention was given to Kateřina Dudová for her debut feature documentary, My Paradise Is Darker Than Your Hell, which was produced by FAMU. The Student Jury selected The World According to My Dad as the best film, directed by Marta Kovářová and produced by Jan Bodnár from Gnomon Production.

Notes From Eremocene by Viera Čákanyová received recognition for its original approach, and in the technical categories, Satan Among Us was awarded Best Editing and Sound Design, while Bedwetter by Jan Hušek won the Best Cinematography award, with Patrik Balonek as the Director of Photography.

In the Opus Bonum competition, two awards remained in Czech hands. The student jury honored La Reine, another debut feature by Nikola Klinger, produced by Miloš Lochman of moloko, while the Best Debut award went to Štěpán Pech for You Will Never See It All, produced by Marek Dusil of Mannschaft.

Last but certainly not least, the audience of the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival voted for their favorite film from the entire program. The award went to Is There Any Place For Me, Please? by Jarmila Štuková, with Maja Hamplová as a producer for Barletta outlet.

Two awards were also granted to Czech projects in the industry awards. If Pigeons Turned Gold by Pepa Lubojacki and produced by Wanda Kaprálová and Klára Mamojková of CLAW won the Ji.hlava New Visions Award 2023 for the most promising European project and will receive post-production services valued at €15,000 (UPP) and €5,000 (Soundsquare). The Current Time TV Award was given to the project You Never Just Walk Away by Rozálie Kohoutová, produced by Martina Knoblochová of Punk Film. The new Emerging Producer for the Czech Republic is Veronika Janatková from the Pandistan production company.
