Simon and Magda, who know each other from work, set off on a trek around Bulgarian Rila Mountains. They start their journey on Mount Musala and plan to part at Rilski Monastir. Magda wants to stay in the monastery for a few weeks, while Simon plans to continue his hike. The differences in their characters lead to both humorous and dramatic situations. The pilgrimage through the landscape of rocks, dry grass, heat, icy lakes, and remnants of snow, with sky touching the ground and an intensity that touches the heart, forces Simon and Magda to step out of their comfort zone, confront their fears and limitations while learning to share their existence with another person, and in doing so, to change forever.
