On 24 February 2022, the whole world was in shock. Vitaly had hoped that dignity would return to his life and to Russia. But soon disillusionment set in. Vitaly became a critic of the "imperialist".
The tragic story of a Siberian nuclear physicist and his family of prominent scientists, all of whom were once among the Soviet Union’s societal elite. The empire’s collapse and the savages of capitalism brought poverty, drugs and a loss of dignity to their lives. It’s no surprise that they came to support Putin over the past twenty years... The frustration that leads entire social classes to elect Putins, Trumps or Le Pens has Freudian dimensions, and it needs to be analyzed anywhere it appears in the world because, left untreated, it can lead to bloody wars and unimaginable tragedies.
