Daniel Kryl and Burian Kremnický – excellent doctors, but above all friends since their university days, have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to run the cardiology centre their own way, and thereby save it from being closed down. Whereas the plain-speaking and stubborn Daniel is the soul of the department, a dedicated doctor who would go to the ends of the earth for his patients, the ambitious Burian is a brilliant surgeon, a visionary who can return to the centre the prestige it has lost. They have the support of the hospital director, who is committed to keeping the cardiology centre open. During the course of the serial we shall see whether Daniel and Burian manage to save the cardiology centre, but above all whether their friendship survives.
