Occupation dominated the Czech Film Critics' Awards 2021 with 4 major wins. Debut by Michal Nohejl was crowned in categories: Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Innogy Award - Newcomer of the Year. Best Documentary is Intensive Life Unit, Best Short Film award went to Love, Dad.

Occupation by debut director Michal Nohejl won 4 Czech Film Critic's Awards 2021. Black Comedy about a sleepy actor's party in socialist Czechoslovakia, which is disrupted by a drunken Russian officer, took home the Best Film award (producers Julie Žáčková & Jan Hlavsa of Unit and Sofa), the Best Director award for Michal Nohejl, who also won the Innogy Award for the Newcomer of the Year, and the Best Screenplay award (scriptwriters Marek Šindelka and Vojtěch Mašek).

Best Documentary prize went to Adéla Komrzý for Intensive Life Unit, which deals with the themes of paliative care and death. Best Short Film shoot Diana Cam Van Nguyen, whose anidoc Love, Dad is a dialog between the filmmaker herself and her dead. The award for Audiovisual Achievement received the directors of animated feature Even Mice Belong in Heaven, Denisa Grimmová and Jan Bubeníček.

While Best Actor award went to Jan Neužil, who potrayed Czechoslovak Olympic winner Emil Zátopek in David Ondříček's biopic Zatopek, with the Best Actress award was crowned Pavla Gajdošíková for portraying the leading role of a woman, caught up in her past, in Jan Prušinovský's drama Emma in Love.

The award for the best work in the Offscreen category went to TV series The Defender (creators Tereza Kopáčová, Tomáš Mašín, Tomáš Feřtek & Matěj Podzimek).
