Petr Zelenka’s new comedy Lost in Munich will celebrate the world premiered at the prestigious BFI London Film Festival. The festival will also screen documentary Wave vs. Shore, Radu Jude's Aferim!, short film At the Jiznak Estate and restored version of Czech Old Legends by Jiří Trnka.
The film about 90-years-old African grey parrot Sir “P”, who used to belong to French prime minister Edouard Daladier and therefore became a living relic of the time of the Munich conference, was produced by David Ondříček and his company Lucky Man Films.
This year’s edition of the festival will also feature the directorial documentary debut of Martin Štrba Wave vs. Shore. Štrba follows the story of a group of still photographers who met at the beginning of 1980’s at Prague’s FAMU and who brought to the fine art photography energy, playfulness and wild imagination and combined it with the principles of the staged photography.
The visitors of the festival can also look forward to seeing a student film At the Jiznak Estate by Jan Vondráček (FAMU) and Radu Jude’s Aferim! co-produced by Romania, Bulgaria and Czech Republic which was awarded Silver Bear for the Best Director at this year’s Berlinale.
Among the treasures of the world cinema will be screened the restored version of Czech Old Legends by Jiří Trnka.
BFI London Film Festival takes place from October 7 to October 18 and all the information can be found at festival’s web page www.bfi.org.uk/lff.
